Severe weather will move through the Ohio Valley Region on Tuesday through Wednesday night.

According to the National Weather Service office in Wilmington, widespread showers and embedded thunderstorms are expected to occur Tuesday afternoon. There is a marginal risk of severe weather, including the possibility of brief tornadoes, primarily over Northern Kentucky. Isolated heavy downpours are also possible.

Cloud coverage will limit temperatures, which may only reach the upper 60s to mid-70s in the afternoon.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to linger in the evening, with isolated severe storms and heavy downpours possible. Precipitation will continue on Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms may produce localized heavy downpours and isolated flooding on Wednesday, per a hazardous weather outlook.

Highs on Wednesday are also expected to be in the upper 60s to mid-70s.

Dry weather will return Thursday before another round of showers moves through the area starting Friday.

The chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts will be between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, except higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low of around 57. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday: It will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. The wind will be calm, becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon.
