Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally in PCB cancels national headliners for spring rally

PANAMA CITY BEACH — A popular upcoming motorcycle rally held on the Beach has made some cuts to an upcoming event.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, officials with Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally announced that performances from national headliners as part of their spring rally's major concert series have been canceled. The rally is slated to occur in Panama City Beach from May 1-5, according to the event's website.

Known to attract thousands of tourists to the area, Thunder Beach is a biannual motorcycle rally held at multiple locations throughout the city, including Frank Brown Park and Harley-Davidson of Panama City Beach.

"It saddens us to say that there will be no major concert series for the 2024 Thunder Beach Spring Rally," the post reads. "We understand the disappointment and inconvenience this may cause, and we sincerely apologize for that."

The post noted Thunder Beach plans to issue full refunds to anyone no longer interested in attending the rally in light of the cancellation.

As of about 10 a.m. on Monday, the post had almost 560 reactions, more than 520 comments and approximately 230 shares.

"We are currently processing refunds, and you can expect to see the funds returning to your original payment method within the next 7-10 days," the post reads. "We deeply appreciate your understanding and continued support. We are hopeful that we will be able to welcome you back to our concerts in the near future."

Following the original Facebook post, officials with Thunder Beach made another post also on Saturday to clarify that even though the national headliners of concert series were canceled, the spring rally is still on.

There also still will be hundreds of vendors, bike shows and demo rides, as well as performances from local and regional bands.

"The rally is on," the post reads. "Only the national headliners have been canceled. Everything else that has made this rally so great is still happening."
