Three Glascock officials will see opposition in 2024 elections

Three Glascock County public officials will see opposition in elections during 2024. The races for Sheriff and the Commission District 1/Gibson seat will be determined in the Republican Primary election on May 21, while the final results of the Commission Chair seat will not be finalized until the November general election.

Incumbent Sheriff Jeremy Kelley will face challenger Don Hilson in the Republican primary.

Both Lynn Kent and Billy Wasden both qualified as Republicans in the race for the Commission District 1/Gibson.

Inumbent Lori Boyen and Ant Griswell both qualified as Republicans for the Commission Chair position, while Greg Johnson qualified as a Democrat.

The following candidates all qualified without opposition for the seats they seek: incumbent Tax Commissioner Sharon Lyons (Rep); incumbent Probate Judge Johnny Pearson; incumbent Clerk of Court Kristie Stephens (Rep); incumbent Coroner Connie-Kitchens Jackson (Rep); Charles C. Roberts Jr (Rep) for Commission District 3/Mitchell seat; incumbent James Stephens for a Board of Education at large seat; Jason Williford for the Board of Education District 1/Gibson seat; and Matt Milburn for the Board of Education District 2/Mill seat.
