Three die in motorcycle-truck collision on U.S. 411 in Gadsden

Three people died Monday following a collision between a motorcycle and a Dodge Ram pickup at the intersection of Walnut Street and U.S. Highway 411 (Albert Rains Boulevard), according to the Gadsden Police Department.

The department in a news release said the wreck happened at 5:38 p.m. It said speed appeared to be a factor, although the crash remains under investigation.

The rider of the motorcycle, Izak Trey Stevens, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Etowah County Deputy Coroner Dantez Robinson.

Two passengers in the truck died shortly afterward, according to Robinson. Juliana Murillo, 20, of Calhoun County, died at a Gadsden hospital. Her child, Noel Finley Murillo, 2, died while en route to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Robinson described the accident scene as “horrific.”

Gadsden police thanked the Gadsden Fire Department, the Etowah County Sheriff's Department, the Rainbow City and Southside police departments and A-Med Ambulance Service and Advantage Emergency Medical Services for what was described as “invaluable assistance” at the scene.
