Three dead from Lincoln County house fire

LINCOLNTON, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Three people were found dead following a house fire near Lincolnton early Tuesday morning.

According to Lincoln County officials, firefighters responded around 2:45 a.m. April 17 to a home in the 1600 block of Cloudburst Circle, off Horseshoe Lake Road. The North 321 Fire Department found heavy fire involvement throughout the house.

Firefighters reportedly found three victims in the home: two adults and one child. One firefighter sustained minor injuries as a result of a structural collapse while attempting rescue of the victims. He was treated and has been released.

In addition to North 321, Maiden Fire Department, Pumpkin Center Fire Department and Lincolnton Fire Department assisted in controlling the fire within 20 minutes.

The investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is pending. The Lincoln County Fire Marshal’s Office, Lincoln County Emergency Medical Services, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and North Carolina ATF are assisting in the investigation.
