UPDATE: Nearly 20,000 people without power in Wisconsin following severe storms

(WFRV) – Nearly 20,000 people throughout the state of Wisconsin are without power after severe storms ripped through much of the Midwest Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night.

Both the Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) and We Energies are continuing to report a number of outages following the end of Tuesday’s severe storms.

As of 5:30 a.m., the number of residents to be out of service has gone significantly down from the previous night but nearly 20,000 people remain without power with WPS reporting 10,452 customers without power and We Energies reporting 9,223 customers without power.

With Tuesday’s severe storms now all clear from the area, these outages should continue to drop in total. Local Five will update this article as things continue to unfold.

(WFRV) – Thousands of residents are without power after a series of severe thunderstorms ripped through the state of Wisconsin on Tuesday night.

Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) and We Energies are reporting several power outages across the Badger State. The storms are expected to last for the next few hours, and the outages will only increase.

As of 10:00 p.m., WPS reports 34,350 outages, and We Energies reports 17,301. The majority of power outages are in northwestern Wisconsin.
