Footage showed crowds marching next to a vehicle carrying Raisi’s coffin through a wide road, with mourners holding pictures and banners, some throwing flowers.

The commemoration precedes the president’s burial in his eastern home city of Mashhad and follows a funeral ceremony and prayers led by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran attended by 40 foreign dignitaries, according to State media.
