Third man arrested for Harrisburg Memorial Day stabbing
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM)– Another arrest was made in a Memorial Day stabbing in Harrisburg that left a man with life-threatening injuries.
Justin Smith was arrested on April 3 and faces numerous felony charges including attempted homicide from the stabbing that happened in the area of South 13th Street and Cloverly Road on May 29, 2023, according to the charges filed by Harrisburg Police.
Police say the stabbing came after the victim attempted to remove clothing from an apartment. A woman inside the apartment called her brother, who allegedly brought a group to the apartment who allegedly beat and stabbed the victim.
Police are still looking for a fourth person who was involved.

According to the criminal complaint, there was surveillance video that captured the assault outside of the apartment. Police were later able to talk to the victim at the hospital and received the names of the suspects.

According to the complaint, when police interviewed Dean Jr. after his arrest in the stabbing, he told them they were at a party before the assault. Dean Jr. also picked out Smith during a “photo array.”
Smith is currently locked up in Dauphin County Prison with bail set at $500,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 16.
