‘I Think We’re Alone Now’: Tiffany brings 80’s nostalgia to West Ridge Mall with live show

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Relive the 1980s at Topeka’s West Ridge Mall this April with a pop culture icon and a healthy dose of nostalgia.

The Greater Topeka Partnership (GTP) announced in a press release on March 20 that people are invited to swing by the mall on April 4 to witness a live performance by Tiffany, the voice behind 1980’s hits like “I Think We’re Alone Now” and “Danny.” She’ll be at the mall for the GTP’s 2024 Annual Meeting under the theme ‘Totally Topeka’, a ticketed event first revealed back in January.

“We are delighted to give people the opportunity to see Tiffany perform for free at West Ridge Mall, and with a nearly packed house, we definitely won’t be alone now!” said John Koop, vice president of resource development and events for The Partnership. “We hope the event gives everyone a reason to rediscover this important commercial and community asset and visit many of the businesses that are inside this fabulous property.”

India Yarborough with the GTP says you’ll be able to find Tiffany at the mall’s food court. At 4:30 p.m. on the event day, Tiffany will give a live performance at the mall’s second-floor interior walkway. To further help set the mood, the GTP will also have a DeLorean modeled after the car seen in “Back to the Future” for people to take photos with.

“We are thrilled to host the Greater Topeka Partnership’s Annual Meeting and can’t wait to welcome Tiffany to West Ridge Mall,” said Casey Richardson, West Ridge Mall general manager. “Just as Tiffany is being reintroduced to a new generation of fans, we believe guests will rediscover West Ridge as the premier shopping and entertainment destination for a new generation of Topekans. We look forward to discussing the vision for our exciting redevelopment at the GTP’s April meeting, as we eagerly welcome the community back to the mall!”

The GTP’s 2024 Annual Meeting is almost sold out. It lasts from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on April 4. You can learn more about the event or purchase tickets for it by clicking here. Tickets start at $125.
