New text line coming to the Southern Tier for substance use disorder assistance

SOUTHERN TIER, N.Y. (WETM) – The 211 Helpline of the Finger Lakes Region has launched a new automated text program for those in the Southern Tier region who struggle with substance use disorder and are seeking help to recover.

Over $171K awarded to Southern Tier programs supporting senior citizens

GetHelpNY is a free and confidential text line that is available to anyone in Steuben, Chemung, Schuyler, Yates, Seneca, Ontario, Wayne, Livingston and Monroe counties who is struggling with substance use and needs support.

It’s open to all ages and gives users the freedom to remain anonymous until they are ready to seek help from community services.

Chemung County auctions off vehicles, surplus equipment

All you have to do is text “GetHelpNY” to 898-211 to start receiving help. The service is available 24/7 to provide support at any time.

This program comes from the Institute for Human Services, Inc. which works in partnership with the 211 Finger Lakes Region.
