Texan arrested in fentanyl-related death in Manhattan

MANHATTAN (KSNT) – Police in Manhattan say a person from Texas is in custody in connection to a fentanyl-related death in the community.

The Riley County Police Department (RCPD) says in a press release that a 21-year-old Texan is under arrest on multiple drug-related charges. These include:

  • Distribution of a controlled substance resulting in a fatality

  • Distribution of opiate/opium/narcotic/stimulant/heroin dosage <10 units

  • Utilization of a communication facility in the commission of a felony drug violation

Ashley Tokoi with the RCPD says the Texan was arrested around 6:40 p.m. on April 20. The arrest stems from an incident in June 2023 where law enforcement responded to the death of a 25-year-old in Manhattan. The investigation into this situation and other fentanyl-related overdoses in the community are ongoing with the RCPD.
