Teenager struck by trailer on Highway 16 in Houston
Mar. 22—HOUSTON, Minn. — A Houston teenager was injured after getting hit by a vehicle Thursday, March 21, 2024, in Houston.
A 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck with a trailer was westbound on Minnesota Highway 16 when a 16-year-old male entered the road near Jackson Street. The truck swerved to the left to avoid the pedestrian but a fender of the trailer struck the teen, according to a Minnesota State Patrol crash report.
The teenager was transported to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup, Joseph Anthony Zook, 26, of Mondovi, Wisconsin, was not injured.
The Houston County Sheriff's Office, Houston Police Department and Houston Ambulance also responded to the scene.
