UPDATE: Missing Beckley girl found in home of 26-year-old Michigan sex offender

UPDATE: Thursday, April 11, 2024 @ 3:45 PM | BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — A 16-year-old girl who was reported missing in Raleigh County was found in the home of a Michigan sex offender.

Michigan State Police confirmed that EnvyS’imore Haines was found in the home of a 26-year-old sex offender who was living in the Petoskey area of Emmet County in Michigan.

On Wednesday, April 10, 2024, the Gaylord Regional Communication Center in Michigan was contacted by West Virginia law enforcement asking for help from Michigan State Police, citing they believed EnvyS’imore Haines was in the Petoskey area.

Haines was found when a search warrant was carried out on the home of the sex offender.

The man reportedly knew Haines had been reported missing in West Virginia and continued to let her stay at the home.

The 26-year-old man was arrested before he was taken to the Emmet County Jail. His identity has not been released due to his pending arraignment.

An investigation into how exactly Haines ended up at the Michigan home is still ongoing.

UPDATE: Thursday, April 11, 2024 @ 9:20 AM | BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — A teenage girl who was reported missing from Beckley was found safe in Michigan.

According to Deputy Chief David Allard of the Beckley Police Department, 16-year-old EnvyS’imore Haines was safely located by the Michigan State Police.

No further information will be released at this time as an investigation into how Haines ended up in Michigan remains ongoing.

Allard thanked the Michigan State Police for their help in locating and keeping Haines until she can be reunited with her family. He also thanked the public for their help in helping find EnvyS’imore.

According to her family, EnvyS’imore Haines is still missing as of Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 3:30 PM.

Haines was last seen at her home in Beckley on Thursday, April 4, 2024. She reportedly told her mother that she was taking out the trash but never came back inside. She stands five feet, seven inches tall, and weighs 255 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair with pink braids. She was last seen wearing a red shirt and pink pajama pants.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of EnvyS’imore Haines is asked to contact the Beckley Police Department immediately at (304) 265-1720.
