“Something just told me to buy it,” he told the NC Education Lottery. “I was in disbelief. I really didn’t think it was true.”

Leviner told the lottery he had only bought lottery tickets a few times before his big win.

“I initially just went there to fill up the lawn mower,” he said.

Leviner chose to claim the lump sum option of $1.2 million. After state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $858,006.
