Teen suspect in River Shore Apartment shooting charged with two felonies

SOUTH BEND — A suspect has been arrested in connection to the April 9 shooting at River Shore Apartments that left one female victim with non-life-threatening injuries.

Around 6:45 a.m. April 9, South Bend Police responded to a report of a shooting on the city's east side, in the 3500 block of Northside Boulevard, where they found a female victim with apparent gunshot wounds.

The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit identified 18-year-old Juwantay Addison as a suspect following an investigation and the processing of evidence, a police press release said. Addison was taken into custody and arrested with the assistance of the St. Joseph County U.S. Marshals Task Force on April 18.

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s office charged Addison with two felonies: domestic battery by means of a deadly weapon and battery by means of a deadly weapon. Addison is currently being held at the St. Joseph County Jail.
