Teen suspect in Priest Lake parking lot shooting arrested

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 15-year-old has been taken into custody in connection with a shooting during a robbery attempt in a parking lot in the Priest Lake area earlier this month.

Metro police reported the teenager was arrested Monday morning on on McPherson Drive.

Suspect sought after shooting in grocery store parking lot

The shooting happened on Monday, April 1 at around 3:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the Food Lion on Bell Road near Hermitage.

The suspect is believed to have been loitering in the parking lot for “some time” and tried to rob the victim as he was getting out of his car, leading to the victim being shot in the jaw, according to investigators.

Police initially said the victim’s injuries were not critical. Then, on Friday, April 5, they announced the 58-year-old United States Marine Corps veteran who was wounded in the attempted robbery is now recovering at home.

Metro police reported the teen will be charged in juvenile court.
