Teen dies in ATV crash in Nevada County

(FOX40.COM) — A 15-year-old boy died at a hospital after an ATV crash in Nevada County on Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency said that the crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on private property in the area of Hillside Terrace and Dog Bar Road, in southern Nevada County.

The area is about 16 miles south of Grass Valley and about 47 miles northeast of Sacramento.

The CHP said a helicopter crew responded and took the teen to Sutter Roseville Medical Center to be treated for major head trauma. The teen later died at the hospital.

A 14-year-old boy was identified as a driver and was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the CHP said.

The agency said that neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected factors in the crash.
