Teen charged in O’Fallon, Illinois stolen car chase

O’FALLON, Ill. — A 16-year-old is facing charges after allegedly stealing a car in O’Fallon, Illinois, and causing a series of collisions that involved six other vehicles. The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department reported that the stolen Toyota Corolla, which was linked to several other car thefts, was spotted by police leading to a pursuit. During the chase, the Corolla collided with six vehicles in O’Fallon before ultimately crashing in East St. Louis.

The teenage driver was arrested along with two other underage passengers and an 18-year-old. Authorities also recovered a semi-automatic AR-style rifle from the vehicle. The underage passengers were later released to their parents.
