TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — An 18-year-old man is facing charges after he was caught driving 110 mph in a 45 mph zone with three girls under 18 who were on Spring Break from Chicago.

An undercover officer with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office was traveling eastbound on Radio Road from Airport Pulling Road in an unmarked patrol car when he saw a white Chevy Camaro, making a U-turn.

The officer said as Navarrete-Castillo turned, his tires squealed, spinning for 3-5 seconds, and fishtailing. As described in the Florida Statue, the car was doing a “burnout.”

The teen “rapidly increased its speed,” passing the officer. The car was blacked out and traveling at a speed of 110 mph in a 45 mph zone.

The arrest report said the officer activated its lights and sirens and pulled over Navarrete-Castillo near 600 San Marcos Boulevard.

The officer told the three younger girls, who said they were 15 and 16 years old, to exit the car. Navarrete-Castillo said he met the girls a few days prior at a Wawa and claimed they were Romanian and didn’t know their names. The girls told the officer they were on Spring Break from Chicago and didn’t really know the teen.

Navarrete-Castillo was arrested and taken to Naples Jail Center where he is being charged with racing and reckless driving, according to police records.
