Churchill Downs is the place to be for the 150th Kentucky Derby and politicians did not miss the chance to be a part of the historic event.
The Run for the Roses is Saturday, but political figures have been seen at Churchill Downs since Friday for the Kentucky Oaks race.

Here are some of the politicians who have been spotted at the iconic race track:
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz was spotted at Churchill Downs on Saturday.
This is the third time the Texas Republican goes to the Kentucky Derby. He attended the event in 2016 and 2017.
Cruz called the Derby “a great American tradition" in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
The Kentucky Derby is a great American tradition.

Mayor Craig Greenberg attended the 150th Run for the Roses with his wife Rachel Greenberg and his two sons.
Gov. Andy Beshear
Gov. Andy Beshear was present at the 150th Running of the Kentucky Derby with his wife, First Lady Britainy Beshear, and their two kids.
At the event, Beshear took a picture with Jimmy Fallon, host of NBC's The Tonight Show, and the comedian's "good luck charm" — a puppy, according to a post on X, formerly Twitter.

U.S. Rep. Morgan McGarvey was at Churchill Downs on Saturday for the 150th Kentucky Derby with his wife Chris.
In an interview with The Courier Journal, he said the use of “My Old Kentucky Home" at the event should be reconsidered.
