TDOT: I-81 crash impacting Sullivan County traffic

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) – A crash on Interstate 81 is stalling traffic for drivers in Sullivan County.

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) SmartWay Traffic Map, the crash occurred at mile marker 67 on I-81 North near Blountville.

Legislature OKs permitting armed teachers in Tennessee schools

The traffic map states the multi-vehicle crash was reported to TDOT at 5:13 p.m.

As of 5:30 p.m., the left lane and shoulder of I-81 North were closed.

Traffic is also slowed in southbound lanes in the area of the crash, according to TDOT.

News Channel 11 has reached out to the Tennessee Highway Patrol for more information.
