TBI cancels Silver Alert after missing man found safe in Memphis

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has canceled a Silver Alert for a man who disappeared in Clarksville after he was found in safe in another city.

The TBI issued a Silver Alert on behalf of the Clarksville Police Department for 67-year-old Joe Dave McDowell on Saturday, April 13.

According to authorities, McDowell was last seen around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13 at his hotel in Clarksville. He was also believed to be driving a blue 2018 Nissan Rogue.

McDowell reportedly had multiple medical conditions that may have impaired his ability to return safely without help, officials reported.

On Sunday, April 14, police announced McDowell was found safe in Memphis. No other information about his disappearance was released.
