BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (WJW) — Taylor Swift fans now have the chance to learn about the singer-songwriter and her impact on the world in a local classroom setting.
Bowling Green State University is offering a new course called Fandom in the US: Taylor Swift to current students this summer.
“From registering to vote ahead of the 2018 midterm elections to suing Ticketmaster to temporarily crashing Google, Swifties have made waves on the social and political landscape,” a course description said.
The class reportedly serves as an introduction to the study of fandom (and haters) in general as well as covering cultural studies and feminist theorists.
Swift courses appear to be popping up at colleges and universities around the country, including at Harvard and University of California, Berkeley as of recent.
Enrollment for the online course has already opened and class begins May 13.

Katie Cline, an American cultural studies PhD student, is teaching the course. It’s unclear if Swift is going to make an appearance as a guest lecturer during the class.
