Taxicab driver killed in Rochester robbery identified

A taxicab driver shot and killed during a robbery on Bay Street in Rochester on Monday has been identified.

Rochester police said the body of 45-year-old David Treese III, of Rochester, was discovered along the roadside by a motorist driving on the road. It is believe Treese was killed about 3:20 a.m. Monday during a robbery, police said. His vehicle was recovered abandoned on Central Park, police said.

There are currently no suspects in custody.

The police department's Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation.
