(WJW) — Target is offering a 20% discount on car seats, strollers and other baby gear when shoppers trade in an old car seat to be recycled.

The two-week promotion is running from Sunday, April 14 to Saturday, April 27, at all Target stores except for the smaller locations, according to the retailer’s website.

Shoppers can leave old car seats at a drop-off box near the guest services desk. Shoppers can scan the sign nearby to get one 20% bonus added to their Target Circle account.

All types of car seats qualify for the promotion, even if they’re expired or damaged.

The 20% bonus for a trade-in can go toward a new car seat or base, booster seat, travel system, stroller or “select” baby gear, whether it’s bought online or in-store. The bonus can be combined with other offers and is redeemable twice. It expires after May 11.

You can find the nearest Target on the retailer’s website. You should call ahead to make sure it’s running the promotion.

Materials from trade-in car seats are recycled to make things like pallets, plastic buckets and construction materials like steel beams and carpet padding, according to the website. Since Target started the promotion in 2016, about 39 million pounds of material has been recycled from 2.6 million traded car seats.
