Sutton elected President Elect for Region 7 TESPA

May 18—Brandi Sutton, Tool Elementary's principal in Malakoff ISD, was voted in as the Region 7 president-elect for the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA). Region 7 serves 95 school districts in 17 East Texas Counties within a 13,305 square mile radius. Sutton and other officers on the Executive Committee will begin in June of 2024.

Sutton's educational background is considerable. She graduated from UT Tyler with her bachelors in 2006 and in 2015 she completed her masters degree from Dallas Baptist University. Sutton is currently pursuing her doctoral degree from Texas A&M University in College Station. She is presently in her fourth year as principal at Tool Elementary in Malakoff ISD. Sutton previously worked in the Mabank school district for 13 years as an assistant principal and teacher.

Since 1917, the TEPSA has served Texas PK-8 school leaders. It is member owned and governed, having more than 5,900 members who direct the activities of over 3 million PK-8 students. TEPSA is an affiliate of the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP). It is led by a seven-member Executive Committee and governed by a Board of Directors.

TESPA provides networking opportunities, leadership training, and support to school leaders in order to improve Texas school childrens' education. They maintain a positive impact on policy makers, legislators, and communities to improve and ensure the quality of public education as well as the principalship.

TEPSA holds an annual summer conference where leading practitioners and experts work alongside Region 7 administrators to explore creative strategies and resources that help ensure success for their campuses and districts.

Sutton's local civic and community leadership record is stellar and her career as an educator is defined by her passion and excellence.

"I am excited for the opportunity to serve the community of Region 7 as the TEPSA president-elect. I am looking forward to meeting so many educators who are as passionate about education as I am," stated Sutton.

Sutton's passion, enthusiasm, and energy that she brings to her work is impressive, as well as her willingness to listen to the concerns and needs of her constituents. Sutton has already made a positive impact in the community and schools that she has worked with throughout the years. Her unwavering commitment, integrity, and vision have earned her the trust and respect of her fellow administrators, teachers, community, and Region 7.
