Suspect arrested in homicide near Garden of the Gods Road and I-25

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said officers have arrested a suspect related to the shooting death of Jason Bales on Sinton Road near Garden of the Gods Road and I-25.

According to CSPD, on Tuesday, April 23 police obtained an arrest warrant for 29-year-old Michael Thomas Darby for charges of First-Degree Murder. He was arrested without incident by the Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force and members of the Tactical Enforcement Unit.

On April 18, at around 11:45 p.m., officers were called to the 4200 block of Sinton Road about a shooting where they found 55-year-old Bales with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
