Surveillance video released after trailer of Bibles burned outside Global Vision Bible Church in Wilson County

WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — More than a month after a trailer full of Bibles was set on fire outside of a Wilson County church, authorities shared surveillance footage of a vehicle fleeing the scene.

The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office said it got a call around 6:30 a.m. on March 31, Easter Sunday, about a utility trailer burning at the intersection of Chandler Road and Old Lebanon Dirt Road in front of the Global Vision Bible Church.

While first responders extinguished the fire, deputies said they determined a large number of Bibles had been “intentionally set on fire,” adding that the suspect(s) had left the scene.

“Happy Resurrection Sunday. This morning at 6:00AM our security cameras caught a man dropping off a trailer in the middle of the intersection and blocking the road into our church. He then got out and set fire to an entire trailer full of Bibles right in front of our church,” Pastor Greg Locke of Global Vision Bible Church posted on Facebook the morning of the incident, along with pictures of the burnt trailer. “There was a lady that had driven through the night to get to our church and she was in the parking lot and was able to get the police officers here quickly, but it was quite the scene to wake up to on my first morning back from Israel. Had to block traffic in all directions but they are almost finished cleaning it up. It’s going to be a great day in the Lord.”
