Superfund job training initiative launches at Joplin Public Library
JOPLIN, Mo. — A government agency is providing people the opportunity to get a job while helping clean up the environment.
It’s part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Superfund Job Training Initiative or also known as Super JTI. The free program got underway today at the Joplin Public Library. It provides participants various free trainings like CPR and First Aid, OSHA 10, Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response and other things—in hopes those who attend pursue a career in environmental clean up work.

Plus—those who attend get the chance to learn more about the Missouri and Kansas Superfund sites. The next session is scheduled for Thursday, May 2nd with sessions beginning at 10 a.m., noon, and 6 p.m. A third session is scheduled for May 14th.
