Sullivan County Health Council will address community wellbeing

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) – A newly formed health council has been formed in Sullivan County.

The Sullivan County Health Council was established by the county commission and county mayor with support from the cities of Kingsport and Bristol, according to a news release from the Sullivan County Regional Health Department.

The health council will address health-related issues with a community-centric approach.

“By bringing together healthcare providers, community leaders, businesses, educators, and citizens, the Council aims to create a united front in enhancing the overall health and wellness of Sullivan County,” the news release states.

Some of the main goals of the Sullivan County Health Council will be to assess the health needs of the county, develop plans to address those needs, help organize initiatives and promote good health practices.

The health council will also review population health data and seek funding for projects.
