Suits' renaissance continues as the BBC have acquired the distribution rights to the beloved legal drama.

After Netflix became partly responsible for Suits' unexpected streaming success when the show was added to its catalogue last summer, it's now time for the BBC to air all nine seasons on both TV and iPlayer for the first time ever.

Mockumentary St. Denis Medical and the series continuation of the hit Best Man films, The Best Man: The Final Chapters, will also be available to watch alongside Suits.

As for the series starring Patrick J Adams and Meghan Markle, it seems that fans' prayers for more episodes have been answered in the form of a spinoff set in Los Angeles with creator Aaron Korsh on board.

Titled Suits: L.A., the upcoming series has received a pilot order at NBC. The show is set to introduce brand new character Ted Black (Stephen Amell), a former federal prosecutor who moves his high-powered practice from New York to sunny Los Angeles.

Amell is joined by One Tree Hill's Bryan Greenberg as Ted's protégé Rick Dodsen, who works in the entertainment division of Black Lane Law. Lex Scott Davis portrays Rick's rival, Erica Rollins, with Josh McDermitt appearing as Stuart Lane, Troy Winbush as Kevin and Alice Lee as Leah.

No word yet as to whether any of the original cast members, if any, will make an appearance in the California-set series.

Meanwhile, NBC has shared the official Suits: L.A. synopsis, teasing more of Ted Black's backstory.

"His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career," the logline reads.

"Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can't help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved."

Suits will air on BBC and stream on iPlayer. The series is also available to stream on Netflix.
