Suffolk Fire & Rescue holds free camp for children 6-9

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Suffolk Fire & Rescue announced the dates for the 2024 Fire & Life Safety Camp.

The camp is for children ages 6-9. The half-day camp runs Monday-Friday and shows children life as a firefighter with Suffolk Fire & Rescue. The mission of the camp is to teach children lessons on fire safety, home escape plans, bicycle safety, water safety, basic first aid, etc.

There is no fee for the camp and children are provided snacks and lunch each day. Camp is from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. and is held at Fire Station # 6 located at 300 Kings Fork Road.

The sessions are as follows:

Session 1: June 24-28

Session 2: July 8-12

Session 3: July 22-26

Session 4: August 12-16
