Students, parents, discuss Iowa education with legislators in Davenport

Students and parents gathered Saturday at Davenport North High School to discuss the current state of public education in Iowa.

During an interactive forum, they voiced their concerns to their legislators. Iowa State Rep. Ken Croken is concerned about the future of public education.

“I want them to understand that de-funding public education will have long-term effects on the Iowa economy and the quality of life of our children. and nothing should be more important to us,” Croken said.

Volunteers helped students register to vote at the forum.
