A professional organizer's favorite hangers
Swap out your current hangers for a total closet face-lift!
I’m here to spill the tea on the ultimate closet glow-up – HANGERS! People don’t realize that simply changing your hangers will work wonders to elevate your closet. Now the question is, which hangers should you choose? Wooden, plastic, slim, suit, clips? There are almost TOO many options!! This is one question that I get asked almost daily, and I’m here to tell you all about my favorites – the ones that are actually in my closet.
Wooden Hangers
Not every hanger was created with the same intention. I have a variety of different types of hangers in my closet, each that serves its own unique function. For my winter coats and my husband’s suits, wooden hangers are the best choice. These work horses are the backbone of your closet operation, as they have the strength to support your heaviest clothing. They’ve got your back, literally! No more slumping shoulders or wonky shapes – these hangers are here to keep things in line and looking sharp. These hangers come with notches to keep your clothes from slipping off, and rods to keep your matching blazers and pants together.
Clip Hangers
For clothes you want to keep upright and unfolded, hangers with clips are the way to go. The clips are adjustable, fitting waistbands of any size. These are ideal for hanging skirts or pants, maximizing vertical space in your closet while keeping your bottoms wrinkle-free and ready to wear. Just make sure you have enough room to hang them. Let’s be real, nobody likes a cramped closet – not even your clothes!
Non-Slip Hangers
Now, for my absolute favorite hangers. These are the hangers that hold up the majority of clothing in my wardrobe. Drumroll please… non-slip hangers! They are slim so you’re not adding extra bulk where clothes should be going. They are non-slip with a gentle grip, so no more sagging shoulders! Not only are they functional, but they are elegant as well. Stocking up on hangers in the same style and color creates a uniform and visually pleasing look. AND they’re affordable, a total win-win!
Oh, and here's a little nugget of wisdom for you: if your closet is feeling like a sardine can and you can't even move the hangers an inch, it's time to declutter, my friend. Slimming down the size of your hanger will pale in comparison to just getting rid of clothes entirely. Trust me, a little clearing out will do wonders for your closet mojo.
So there you have it – the secret to a beautifully organized closet lies in the power of the perfect hangers. With a little bit of investment and a whole lot of love, you can transform your space into a haven of style and serenity. So go ahead, give those clothes the VIP treatment they deserve. Happy organizing!
