In 2017 John Wiese’s home in Davenport was hit by a tornado. Trees were also struck by the derecho 4 years ago.

On Friday, at the same house, a maple tree that was more than 100 years old was knocked down by another storm.

John’s daughter Stacy told Our Quad Cities News she rushed over to her father’s house to make sure that he was OK. Luckily, the tree missed the house, and caused no damage or injuries. She is grateful that no one was hurt and that there was no damage to the home.

Wiese’s daughter says he has a heart of gold, so he has plenty of friends to help with the cleanup. People in the community will soon come together to help him clean up the remnants of the tree.

While there was no damage to the Wiese home, a racoon – now named Twister – who lived in the tree will be searching for a new place to stay.
