Stillman College holds spring graduation ceremony for the Class of 2024
Stillman College held its 2024 graduation ceremony on May 11 at Tiger Stadium on the Tuscaloosa campus.
The commencement ceremony honored the achievements of 120 graduates across 15 majors with 69% of the class of 2024 earning honors, according to a news release from Stillman.
Egypt Sherrod, host of the HGTV show "Married to Real Estate," served as the commencement speaker and she received an honorary doctorate from Stillman College.
Also receiving honorary degrees were Lashunda Roberts Scales, who serves on the Jefferson County Commission, and Donald W. Comer, staff vice president for decision science and analytics at FedEx and a member of Stillman's board of trustees.
Stillman also honored alumni from the class of 1974, 50 years after their graduation.
The graduation ceremony also marked the first for Stillman College President Yolanda W. Page, who became Stillman College's eighth president on July 1, 2023.
Stillman College, a private historically Black college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), was established in 1876 and has a 105-acre campus in Tuscaloosa.
