New steak restaurant with locations in 49 states coming to Waynesboro

WAYNESBORO — A new steak restaurant is coming to Waynesboro next year.

The public relations department of Texas Roadhouse confirmed to The News Leader that the chain, based in Louisville, Kentucky, is tentatively opening sometime in 2025. Greg Hitchin, Waynesboro's director of economic development, told The News Leader that it will be located in the Waynesboro Marketplace, 1880 Rosser Ave., behind the Sheetz.

Texas Roadhouse, which first opened in 1993, has more than 600 locations in 49 states as well as 40 international locations.

The nearest locations of Texas Roadhouse to the Waynesboro area currently are in Charlottesville and Harrisonburg. According to the company's website, the restaurants are a "dinner-only concept" during the week but do open for lunch on weekends. The Harrisonburg location is open from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Sundays.

The menu includes chicken, steak and ribs, as well as salmon, catfish, shrimp, pork chops and pulled pork barbecue. There are also burgers and sandwiches, along with fresh-baked bread.

According to the corporate website, each Texas Roadhouse restaurant employs a butcher and a baker.
