Steady temperatures ahead of weekend warm-up

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Wednesday, Utah! We are halfway through the workweek. Today’s weather will depend on where you are across the state.

A weak system clipping northern Utah will bring a few more clouds and a slight chance of showers. Otherwise, skies will be partly cloudy with temperatures that will be similar to, if not a little cooler than yesterday.

Morning clouds give way to afternoon sunshine across Utah

In southern Utah, we’ll see mostly sunny skies with temperatures warmer than yesterday. We’ll mainly see a mix of 60s and 70s outside of the high country while places like Moab and St. George reaches the low to mid 80.

Tonight will bring clear skies with lows dropping to the 20s and 30s for most outside of southernmost Utah.

With a westerly flow in place, tomorrow will bring temperatures nearly identical to what we get this afternoon as most check in with mostly sunny skies. Winds will start to become more southerly Friday into the weekend and that will open up the door to a warming trend.

We will see a few more clouds though on Friday into Saturday as a weak system brushes by the state. While most will likely stay dry, a few afternoons pop up showers look possible both days.

By Friday, daytime highs will run about five to 10 degrees above average across the board. This weekend will see highs return to the 70s along the Wasatch Front, near 60 in Park City, and St. George could start to see highs push into the upper 80s by Sunday.

The warmth looks to hold through the first half of next week as skies stay mostly dry. By the end of next week, we could see active weather return, but we’ll just keep an eye on that for now.
