Staying hot and mostly dry this week

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – We are still enjoying some lower humidity today, but it does get hot in the afternoon sunshine. Highs reach the low 90s. Heat index values will be just a few degrees higher.

The drier air limits rain chances, but a few late afternoon showers are possible with the sea breeze. The rain chance today and tomorrow is just 10%. Any showers that form will be light and won’t last long.

Humidity gradually increases into the weekend, so heat index values will increase even as afternoon highs remain the same.

Don’t expect much rain over the Memorial Day Weekend, but it stays hot with highs in the low 90s.

Slightly better rain chances return by the middle of next week with a weak front arriving in the area.
