State College man allegedly found with drugs in White Deer Township

May 23—WHITE DEER TOWNSHIP — A State College man was allegedly found with crack cocaine during a traffic stop in White Deer Township, according to state police in Milton.

Kio Manuel DeJesus-Pena, 41, of Stuart Street, State College, was charged with a felony count of drug possession; and two misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges were filed by state Trooper Howard Young, of the Milton State Police Barracks, in the Mifflinburg office of District Judge Jeffrey Mensch.

Young reported he conducted a traffic stop at 11:02 a.m. Oct. 15 on a black Hyundai Elantra with Ohio plates on Interstate 80 in White Deer Township. Young said he suspected criminal activity and searched the vehicle, according to court documents.

Young seized 15 plastic-wrapped baggies of crack cocaine and a glass smoke pipe with suspected crack cocaine residue, police said.

DeJesus-Pena was arraigned on May 18 and bail was set at $75,000. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 2 p.m. May 28 in front of Mensch.
