Starbucks announces ‘temporary’ closure of East Sacramento location

(FOX40.COM) — A Starbucks location in East Sacramento, known for its unique exterior look, is temporarily closing, according to a sign posted at the coffee shop and a statement from the chain.

The last day of operation for the location at 1401 Alhambra Boulevard is April 21, with a “Family and Friends Event,” the sign said. The coffee shop is known around the community for having a giant coffee mug built into its architecture.

In an email statement to FOX40.com, Starbucks spokesperson Sam Jefferies said the closure is temporary and employees have been given the offer to transfer to other locations, but they did not provide information about a reopening date.

Jefferies didn’t provide a reason for the closure and encouraged customers to check the company’s app “to find up-to-date information on store hours.”

“As a standard course of business, we regularly evaluate our store portfolio to determine how we can best meet our community and customers’ needs and ensure partners are supported in crafting beverages in a warm and welcoming environment,” Jefferies said.
