Star Athletes Sign at Seneca High School

SENECA, MO – Star athletes signed to compete at the next level on Wednesday afternoon at Seneca High School.

Jera Jameson and Andrew Manley both put pen to paper to continue their athletic careers. Joined by fellow students and family, Jameson will continue her athletic career at Neosho County Community College, and Manley will continue his at NEO.

Jameson said she wasn’t planning on playing volleyball in college, but a visit changed her mind.

“Originally, I didn’t plan on continuing my career,” Jameson said.

“I went on a visit because of an invite, and I immediately fell in love the the team and environment. It feels fantastic, and I’m so excited.”

Jameson is just the second girl at Seneca to receive all-state volleyball honors, as the middle hitter saw varsity action in all four years of her high school career.

Similarly, Manley had much success on the wrestling mats for the Seneca Indians. The state champion wrestler went 48-0 on the season, and earned an all-state selection after his first place win over Blair Oaks.

“I love NEO because it’s real close to home, and I know a lot of people there,” Manley said.

“It was just a great fit. Coach Renfro and his staff are great, and the program there is terrific.”

Jameson said she plans to study radiology with hopes to become a doctor, and Manley said he plans to study education with hopes to become a teacher or coach.
