Stanly County couple arrested on child abuse-related charges, filing false police report

ALBEMARLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Stanly County couple was arrested this month following accusations of child abuse.

According to the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received reports of the alleged abuse on March 5. After an investigation, Devin Lowder was charged with felony assault inflicting serious bodily injury, assault by strangulation, and two counts of assault inflicting serious injury with a minor present.

Sabrina Lowder was charged with failure to report crimes against juveniles and simple assault and arrested for filing a false police report.

Devin Lowder is being held at Stanly County Jail under a $15,000 secured bond, and Sabrina Lowder received an unsecured bond. Both have an initial court date of April 15.
