SRK and Akshay Kumar make it on the list of highest paid actors
Starting with the highest paid actor, wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson topped a Forbes magazine list with an estimated 2016 payday of $64.5 million.
Johnson, 44, knocked Robert Downey Jr. off the top spot and more than doubled his 2015 earnings. Johnson, known as “The Rock” during his wrestling career, also collected advance fees from the eighth installment of the popular ‘Fast and Furious’ racing movie franchise.
Not surprisingly, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar have made it into the list of top 10 highest paid actors. Matching the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Shah Rukh at 8th position has become the highest paid Indian actor. While with earnings as much as that of Hollywood actor Brad Pitt, Akshay has secured 10th rank in the list. Other India actors who have made it into the list include Salman Khan at No.14 (28.5 million) and Amitabh Bachchan at No.18 (20 million).
The Forbes annual list again highlighted the pay gap between men and women in Hollywood. Earlier this week the magazine named Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence the world’s highest paid actress for a second straight year, with an estimated 2016 take of $46 million. Deepika Padukone landed herself on the tenth spot on the list of highest paid actresses in the world.
