Springfield area student who wants to major in physical therapy is Student of the Week

In a convincing vote, North Mac High School senior Addison Earley was selected as the newest State Journal-Register Student of the Week.

Earley won 77% of the vote this week. The poll was on sj-r.com from Monday to Thursday.

Other nominees were Ethan Fagan of Brown County High School and Aiden Meinkoth of Southeast High School.

Earley is a member of National Honor Society and the volleyball and track teams at North Mac.  She was a member of the 2024 Illinois Prep Top Times Indoor State Champion 4x200 team.

In the fall, Earley will be attending the University of Missouri in Columbia and majoring in physical therapy.

Principals and administrators from local and area schools nominated students based on academic achievement, leadership, citizenship, character, public service and participation in clubs and activities.

Nominees for the SJ-R Student of the Week run online on Mondays and in print on Tuesdays.
