How to spot the warning signs of head and neck cancers

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — April is Head and Neck Cancer Awareness month and Dr. Ravi Patel joined 17 news at Sunrise to speak about the warning signs of the deadly disease.

According to Dr. Patel, people who drink alcohol and smoke regularly should try to limit their usage while. If you can’t cut back, Dr. Patel advises people should at least be aware of the condition of your throat and mouth, due to a high chance of contracting head and mouth cancer, ulcers, ear pain and even difficulty swallowing food.

If the warning sings of neck and head cancer are detected early enough, they sometimes can be removed with the use of specialized radiation treatments.
