Southern University to have crawfish, live music at scholarship benefit

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Southern University and A&M College will have its 10th annual Crawfish Boil and Music Festival. It will be from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 4.

The Home Chapter of the Southern University Alumni Federation is hosting the event which started a decade ago. More than 800 people are expected to attend. People can enjoy fried fish, crawfish and the Human Jukebox Marching Band performances.

“This is a special year for us,” said Brian Adams, Home Chapter president. “We have successfully held this event for a full decade with the generosity of our sponsors and volunteers. We look forward to another great party with a purpose right here on the Bluff.”

Organizers encourage everyone to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Other live performances include The OMT Band. DJ Cali will play music throughout the day, the university said.

Baton Rouge live art event to raise mental health awareness

Tickets are $35. The festival will be on Mayberry Lawn.

Jaguar fans can also attend sports events. These include the SWAC Track Championship and the baseball game against Alcorn State.
