The Secretary of State’s office has announced an inaugural “I Voted” sticker contest.

Michigan residents can enter their design to be considered for the state’s official “I Voted” sticker that will be handed out to voters when they head to the polls in November.

“Democracy is a team sport and our first ‘I Voted’ sticker contest is a fun way to get people across the state engaged in our elections,” Benson said in a statement. “I hope that students, parents, educators and community groups all help us spread the word about this opportunity to showcase Michigan’s creativity and civic pride.”

There will be three contest categories: one for students in elementary and middle school (Kindergarten through 8th grade), one for high school students and one for Michiganders of all ages.

To be considered, all entries must include the phrase “I Voted” and be deemed nonpartisan.

Entries are due by 11:59 p.m. on June 30. The public will vote for the finalists in an online poll throughout July. The winners will be announced in August.

The full contest rules are available on the Secretary of State’s website.
