Sonny Gray to start season on injured list

The St. Louis Cardinals confirmed on Friday that new starting pitching ace Sonny Gray will start the 2024 regular season on the injured list. Gray suffered a hamstring pull in his second spring training start. He is progressing, but hasn’t thrown enough innings and will go on the injured list to build his pitch count up.

Lars Nootbaar – rib injury – 10 day injured list

Keynan Middleton – forearm injury – 15 day injured list

Drew Rom – biceps injury – 15 day injured list
