‘Slight scare’: RC airplane crashes onto Huntsville brewing company’s roof

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The St. Patrick’s Day crowd at Huntsville’s Back Forty Beer Company got a ‘slight scare,’ when the business says an RC airplane crashed onto its roof.

In a post on social media, Back Forty said the remote-controlled airplane landed on its roof causing minimal damage and a bit of a stir for its customers, but thankfully no one was injured.

“Clarification on today’s [Sunday’s] excitement, a RC airplane crashed onto the roof of Back40HSV causing minimal damage,” the post said.

HFR confirmed to News 19 that they responded to the incident at 12:43 p.m. on Sunday and said that the RC plane did impact the roof.

Patrons and staff did have to evacuate the building for some time, but Back Forty was able to reopen within a couple hours after Huntsville Fire & Rescue (HFR) gave them the all-clear.

The beer company made sure to compliment its patrons for sticking it out through the bit of excitement.

“Thank you to our patrons for being patient. B40Hsv is open and the beer is flowing…,” Bakc Forty added.
